Enough SIE Prep: When You Have to Take the Exam Ready or Not

It’s tough to know when you have done enough SIE prep. Even worse is when employers force there employees to take the exam before they’re ready. So how do you know if you’ve prepared enough? We will address that in today’s blog.

Enough SIE Prep: Are You Ready?

With any standardizing exam, it can be difficult to know when you are ready to take the exam. However, from our experience at professional exam tutoring, we can roughly engage prepared. Someone is by speaking with them. But ultimately the true indicator is practice scores.

To get an accurate picture of accurate practice scores, you want to make sure you’re using the right material. On that note, we highly recommend STC as they preferred vendor of choice to best prepare you for the SIE exam.

The reason being that their practice scores on their final exams, end up being very representative of where your score is likely to shake out. In other words, we highly recommend that you aim for a practice score on their final exams in the high 70% range, but cracking 80% will leave you very confident going into the exam.

Not Enough Time

When your employer forces you to go into the exam within two weeks or less, you will likely be very tight on time to study. When this is the case, the best approach we’ve seen as far as student to get the textbook as fast as possible. Ideally, that means in three days or less. In order to do this, we recommend that you read the textbook like a novel and not take notes, or not do practice along the way.

Once you finish reading the book then be sure to go through STC practice final exams, one through eight. Try to do that twice over to get familiar with a broad range of the types of questions you might see. You will also get a sense of the way the exam may try to trick you and asking questions.

Overall, enough SIE prep really depends on your practice scores. As long as you are not memorizing answers, and your practice scores are above 80% on STC, you should be totally fine. Feel free to reach out with any questions for more guidance. Good luck!
